Seth and I laugh every time we see this place outside of Payson. This time we thought we'd snap a pic and see what others' thoughts are on it. Its kind of hard to see as we were driving and Seth stuck the camera out the window to snap the pic. The sign says "Adult Cabaret" and yes that's a big ol' heifer on top of it......

Happy Camping!!!
We finally did what we've been talking about for a year, we took the girls camping. Now I know why we were just talking about it before. Maybe we should have talked about it for another year or so! No it wasn't all bad. Just from 8 pm 'til about 4 am, other than it was a lot of fun. Here's my list of do's and don'ts for camping with toddlers:
- Don't forget to take your 3 year old potty before 3:30 am at which point its really too late.
- Don't think that a 2 year old can settle down and go to sleep when there is a blow-up mattress to jump on.
- Do invest in some sort of heating apparatus if you're camping where the temp gets below 40 degrees.
- Don't go into it thinking you will get more than a couple hours of sleep.
- Do bring more to do than stare at the campfire... McKay kept asking "why are we doing this?"
- Don't assume that you're toddlers will know how to share a queen size mattress... they won't!
- Do pay a babysitter to come with you so they can sleep in a tent with your children, preferably 100-150 feet from your tent.
- Don't assume because your spouse's snoring doesn't bother you at home in your nice warm bed that it won't bother you in a cold tent on a deflating mattress.
- If you have a child that gets car sick, Don't forget to hand her to your husband at your first pit stop on the way home. (This was the one thing I did right! - Finally Seth got to experience being puked on.)
On the plus side of things we did go kayaking on this absolutely beautiful little lake and the girls had a blast getting filthy dirty. Camping can be fun but 30 degrees was a little chilly for us.
McKay got so bored she finally just decided to go to sleep.
Despite the life jacket, she actually really enjoyed the kayaking.
McKay making a camping fashion statement.
Are we having fun yet?

McKay's Question(s) of the Week
Here are the two doozies that McKay just threw at us:
"Why do we have to die?"
with the follow up of...
"Is Heavenly Father sad when we die?"
I guess at very least, besides stumping us for a few moments while we figure out how to respond, she is making us ponder on some points that we may not normally think too much about.

Boogers and Lies
A lie is a lie, Right? I scolded McKay for lying to me last night. She said she went to the bathroom when I knew she hadn't, she knew I knew, she said it to see my reaction and we had a nice little "discussion" about lying.
So here's the problem, I just told McKay that if she doesn't quit picking her nose and eating her boogers she's going to get sick and have to go to the doctor..... Is there any chance that that's true? Can boogers lead to illness? Is there justification for lying when booger eating is involved? Oh the perplexities of parenthood.

Sisterly Love
McKay giving Kimball a little back rub in the stroller. My most vivid memories of my oldest sister, Dawn, is getting yelled at for borrowing her clothes without permission. She was the fashionista in our family and I still beg her for hand-me-downs when I go to see her. She has roughly 568 pairs of shoes... that may be an overstatement but it's close. Let me just say that I only borrowed her clothes "without permission" because there was no other way to borrow them seeing as how she didn't give permission. Granted she had the coolest clothes ever, she had every color of jeans you could imagine, way cool for the early 90's.
Dani and I worked together at KFC and we ruled the drive-thru together. Nobody else dared asked to work DT if we were working because no one could pack a 15 pc family meal like we could. Maybe this is why we spend hours on the phone talking to eachother while we cook and clean... we learned how to multi-task from the colonel.
Dyana is the baby and until I was home from my mission I pretty much viewed her as just that. Then she graduated from HS and I needed a roommate to help pay the rent so I convinced her to leave her posh life at home as an only child. Our life as roommates was pretty good but when we went home we fought like cats and dogs...
So what is all this about, I don't know. I look at my two little angels and wonder if they will love eachother like best friends, will they be competative, will they avoid eachother at school, will McKay let Kimball borrow her clothes, will Kimball idolize her big sister or detest being "McKay's Little Sister"? I think about this all the time and hope that they love eachother everyday and always want to be together but I doubt that will be the case. I can only hope that after the tumultous teenage years they will realize how much they love eachother and be BFF!

Where are my darn quarters?

Down to my last four quarters, wet laundry in the blasted coin-op downstairs from our apartment waiting to be moved to the over-priced low quality dryer. McKay had the quarters I told her to put them on the table where they sat while I cleaned the girls room, except then they weren't there anymore. So where did they go? If you can get through a full conversation with Kimball while she's watching tv then we'd all know!
Me: Kimball did you take the money off the table?
Kimball: huh?
Me: the money on the table did you move it?
Kimball: yeah
Me:where did you put it?
Me:where did you put it?
Kimball: huh?
Me: where did you put the money that was on the table?
Kimball: that money?
Me: yes the money that was right here where did you put it?
Me: where did you put the money that was on the table?
Kimball: that money?
Me: yes the money that was right here where did you put it?
Kimball: IN THE PIGGY BANK I SAID!
I don't know if they were my quarters in there or not but they're mine now!

Kimball's Birthday Party
Nothing too exciting just pics from Kimball's Toy Story Birthday Party. One of the best things about a 2 year old is that they love to open presents and they love everything they get. She was just as excited for her new state-of-the-art doll stroller from nana as she was with the 2 pictures her sweet cousin colored for her. Each gift warranting an "oh wow!" response.
Finally there are 2 doll strollers in the house, is there any chance whatsoever that this will eliminate the cat fights over who gets to use the stroller, probably not they'll just fight over the new one!

Kimball chose Toy Story for her cake, it wasn't very good for cutting up and serving but it looked cute.

We took so long getting ready to sing Kimball started singing to herself.

A pedicure from Nana what more could a girl ask for?

Coloring time, always nice in the middle of all the chaos.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIMBALITA!

I Love you too.
McKay doesn't wake up from naps very well. She needs a good 20-30 minutes to get back to her perky happy self. So I should have known better than to wake her up and stick her right in the car with Kimball in a chipper and talkative mood but it was worth it. We'd been driving for about 5 minutes with Kimball talking, singing, yelling and laughing at herself for the duration. McKay likes it quiet when she first wakes up. Thus the following converstation:
Kimball: What Kay Kay? You love me? I love you too!
McKay: NO, just be quiet!
Oh Kimball, you really do know how to push buttons but man you make me laugh! What not-quite 2 year old says these things!!
Mckay: KIMBALL!!!
